Massive demonstration in Tirana in Albania this weekend after five consecutive days of demonstrations in the country against the increase in the price of fuel and basic necessities.
While the monthly wage is around 490 euros and the minimum wage is only 242 euros, the liter of diesel has gone from 180 lekë (1.5 euros) to 290 lekë (2.37 euros) in the last 20 days in Albania.
The government was forced to react and announce a “social aid package” this Saturday, but the demonstrations should continue, the demonstrators believe that the measures taken are not enough.
