Protesters have blockaded fuel depots in Lorient and Brest on Tuesday morning in anger at fuel price hikes, vowing to remain until the govt freezes domestic tax on petroleum products.
By 9am police had reported about 50 vehicles, while fishermen joined the Lorient action by lighting a pile of pallets at the street entrance.
Organizers have insisted they will only allow diesel reserved for farmers and agricultural contractors to leave the depots, and hope to attract around 200 participants to the protest by Wednesday.
