In Israel, the double-vaccinated and triple-vaccinated are now driving the Omicron wave of COVID-19 cases. Roughly 47% of Israel’s population is triple-vaccinated.
This mirrors recent data from the UK, showing SARS-CoV-2 infection rates higher and rising faster in the double-vaccinated than among the unvaccinated. Similarly, as of Wednesday (Jan. 5) in Ontario, the double-vaccinated account for 83% of COVID-19 cases, and infection rates per 100,000 by vaccination status show double-vaccinated people more likely to get infected than unvaccinated.
An often repeated phrase that this is a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” by certain world leaders now conflicts with global data on COVID-19.
