Jimmy Kimmel will be taking some time away from his talk show to recover from COVID-19.
On Monday (May 2), the 54-year-old TV personality disclosed his diagnosis on Twitter and Instagram. COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County, where Jimmy Kimmel Live! is taped, have seen an increase fueled by the B.A.2 subvariant, but hospitalizations attributed to the virus remain low.
Our daughter brought us covid (even though we specifically asked her not to) All feeling fine, I am double vaxxed and boosted but the show must not go on. Apologies to @TomCruise & @iliza and thanks to Mike Birbiglia @birbigs who'll be filling in for me starting tomorrow night

Jimmy Kimmel has COVID-19, but it's okay, he's double vaxxed, and boosted 😜

Kimmel’s COVID-19 diagnosis comes less than two weeks after another late-night host, Stephen Colbert, announced he too had tested positive.
