The Dutch government has continued to withhold excess mortality data, even after parliament unanimously called for an independent investigation to examine “abnormalities in excess mortality” back in December 2021.
At the time, the National Bureau of Statistics reported excess mortality of 800 to 900 people per week, while the Public Health Institute counted only about 300 deaths per week as a result of COVID-19. Scientists are now criticizing the government’s continued failure to release the data for review.
In an opinion piece in de Volkskrant this week, two professors wondered whether the deaths are related to the postponed hospital care from lockdown, “corona stress” or perhaps even the large numbers of COVID-19 vaccinations.
