Russia brining 16,000 mercenaries from Syria to fight as 16,000 US mercenaries arrive to Ukraine

By Kanan Alibayov

Captured weapons in Ukraine, including MANPADS, ATGMs, tanks and small arms will be transferred to the militia of the DPR and LPR.

About 16,000 applications have been received from volunteers from the Middle East (notably, Syrians) to fight for the Donbass – Putin instructed to allow them in.

Extra measures for securing the Western border of Russia are under consideration.

Vladimir Putin has today given the go-ahead for up to 16,000 volunteers from the Middle East to be deployed alongside Russian-backed rebels to fight in Ukraine.

The move, which comes just over two weeks since the Russian President ordered the ruthless invasion, allows Russia to deploy battle-hardened mercenaries from conflicts such as Syria without risking additional Russian military casualties.

At least 16,000 foreign nationals have volunteered to join an “international legion” created to resist Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelensky claimed, after Kiev lifted visa requirements for anyone willing to fight. “Every friend of Ukraine who wants to join Ukraine in defending the country, please come over,” Zelensky pleaded at a recent press conference, adding “We will give you weapons.”
