A federal panel of experts advising the CDC voted unanimously on Saturday (June 18) to recommend COVID-19 vaccines developed by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna be made available to kids as young as 6 months old.
Although the vote is nonbinding, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky is expected to sign off on the recommendation from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices any minute now.
10 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, which have already been pre-ordered from the federal government, could be available at pharmacies and other providers as soon as Tuesday (June 21).
