Czech Government Ditches Plan for Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination to Avoid “Deepening Fissures” in Society

To avoid “deepening fissures” in society, the Czech government on Wednesday (Jan. 19) scrapped plans to make COVID-19 vaccines mandatory for key professionals and people over 60 even as daily cases hit another new record.

Prime Minister Petr Fiala said his new centre-right government did not see reasons for mandatory COVID-19 vaccination as the previous administration had planned in some sectors.
