NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio has ramped up the city’s restrictions by rolling out the vaccine mandate to the whole private sector from Dec 27, while it will also no longer be enough to have proof of one jab.
“NYC is a global leader when it comes to COVID-19 recovery. We’ve proven that with vaccine mandates and incentives, we can beat this virus,” de Blasio tweeted. “Together we can save lives and move forward.”
Kids aged 5-11 will require vaccine proof to enter dining or entertainment venues – only 35.7% of children 5-17 would meet the requirements as things stand.
