Protests against COVID-19 measures were held in multiple cities across the Netherlands on Wednesday (Jan. 12) evening. The participants marched through the streets of Utrecht, Sittard, Maastricht, Sneek, and Roermond demanding that shops and restaurants be reopened, among other things.
The largest protest was in Sittard. According to the organizers, between 1,300 and 2,000 people attended.
The demonstrations were mostly peaceful, with just with one minor clash reported with counter-protesters in Utrecht.
