Several thousand people gathered in Toronto on Saturday (Feb. 5) to protest against COVID-19 vaccine mandates throughout Canada.
A major intersection in downtown Toronto was blocked by trucks as part of a demonstration. Shortly after, large crowds gathered a couple of blocks away on the north lawn of Queen’s Park.
There are now major traffic delays across the city due to the protests.
Flyers advertising a “convoy for freedom” against COVID-19 measures have circulated on social media. Michael Yhip, one of the protesters, said he is supporting the demonstration to make a statement.
“This isn’t a racist protest, and people should start to listen to what they’re talking about,” Yhip said.
