EU’s second-lowest vaccinated Romania holds protest against covid-19 pass while country having the bloc’s lowest reported infections

As Romanian MPs vote on whether to extend the country’s Covid pass from restaurants, shops and cultural venues to workplaces, thousands have descended on the parliament in the capital Bucharest.

Opposition party the Alliance of Romanian Unity has slammed the “dictatorial” coalition’s plans as “liberticide”, saying wanting to impose compulsory vaccinations “in disguise.
